Clinton Street Coffeehouse was a spot I visited when I first moved to Portland in 2006. Now that I’m a part of the neighborhood myself, I’m excited to announce that for the month of October, I will have prints for sale at the cafe.
Each digital print features the juxtaposition of two images. The first is a photograph I took of a performer inhabiting a mask I created and the second photo is one I took of a locale in Portland. I overlaid the two images to find out how, when combined, the images speak to each other and bring forth a third, new story.
This image series began with a 2021 Exhibition at Arts Center East in La Grande, Oregon, called Missing Your Face. The series has expanded since then with new masks and spaces I’ve visited.
